Stila Oil-Free Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer

 STILA SHEER COLOR TINTED MOISTURIZER

It thought i'd kick off the week with a review of the Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer. I have been using this tinted moisturizer everyday for the past two weeks and am so blown away by it. It is one of those products that perfect your skin's tone and appearance and still lets your natural skin shine through. It is perfect for girls who are looking for something light, undetectable and that has high protection from the sun.
I have been wearing this with my Clarins Instant Smooth primer and have been setting it with Revlon nearly naked powder and am amazed at the longevity of this combination. It stays put all day! So in love with this stuff!
Available at Strawberrynet.com for $39.50

J Bronze by Jennifer Hawkins Review

When I first heard that our Australian Sweetheart Jennifer Hawkins was releasing a tanning range I was quite skeptical, as often celebrity endorsed products aren't that flash. However, I bit the bullet and purchased the Dark Tanning Spray, Face Flawless Tan and the Instant Illuminiser.

First thing is first, the packaging is gorgeous. It is sophisticated, simple and resembles the qualities of a high end product. I tried the Dark Tanning Spray first, and the first thing I notice was it's powerful scent. It has a strong coconut fragrance that is 'so sweet', and resembles Malabu Rum. It can be quite overpowering and found myself coughing and sneezing a lot! I wouldn't recommend applying this in a small space because you may pass out and die from the fumes! The spray nozzle can be a little blotchy so its is best to blend in the product with a mitt or your hands. Once I had applied the spray I tried the face tan which is a lovely light-weight formula that sinks into the skin instantly, avoiding that clammy, sticky residue that other self tanners give. The entire tanning process only took about 10min and soon it was time to crawl into bed and see how the tan developed over night.
9hours Later.....

Best finish I have seen in a self tan! It is a beautiful red based tan that looks so natural and deep. The red undertone gives the illusion of a fresh out of the sun holiday glow that is SO natural! Seriously this tan is Fantastic!

I am now on the 3rd day after applying and the colour is starting to fade. However, it is fading so evenly and still has that gorgeous red undertone that makes me look naturally sun kissed. This is my new favourite self tan that is a stable in my summer routine.

On to the Illumaniser. I was not as impressed with this product as I was with the others. This is a wash-off shimmer that can be applied to legs, arms, or anywhere that is exposed to an extra element of glow. However this illuminiser seems to had a lot of silver sparkles that actually makes my legs look dry and flakey. I kind of want to test this product out and a highlight for my face (ill let you know how I go). The scent of this illuminiser is heavenly and smells a lot like Marc Jacobs Daisy.
Overall not a fan of the illuminiser, Sorry Jen, but the self tans are Amazing!!!

Currently on special at Chemist Warehouse!

Colour after 3 days! Still going strong :)

80 - Outfit Post

Just thought i'd share my favourite little get up at the moment. Iv been loving the sport luxe thing that has been going around. I found this oversized tee at General Pants and have been wearing it non stop. Its got floral detail a the bottom which creates a sick contrast and makes the look a little for feminine. Threw on my leather jacket and some connies and I'm good to go!

Top 5 Spring Lipsticks

I don't think you understand just how hard it was for me to narrow my favourite lipsticks to 5. I was so close to making this a top 15 lipstick post! But I did it, and feel so guilty about my other lipsticks that are back in the box feeling neglected. Oh gosh I actually feel sad!
I have gathered a handful of 'some' of my favourites, ranging from super affordable to higher-end shades. The following 5 are the ones I know I will be reaching for over the warmer months. For me Spring is all about colour, and the brighter the better and for Spring I love to wear peachy pinks :) One of my favourite looks is simple skin, mascara and a rocking bold lip! I just find it looks so fresh and flattering, and a perfect way to bring a pop of colour into your 'get-up'.
So without further delay I introduce my top 5 lippes.

Ranking in at number #1
RIMMEL APOCALIPS - Stellar
This is such a vibrant and unique product that I have been wearing constantly since spring came around. It is a gorgeous coral with a strong pink tone that is just heaven on the lips. It is a great alternative to a standard red lip. As it is a Lip Lacquer it's not as dense as other lipsticks and the longevity of this product is unbelieve'a'bubble! I often wear this to work and by the end of a 6 hour shift it is till in tact. AND ITS ONLY $12.95!

Number #2
REVLON JUST BITTEN Lip Stain & Balm - 040 Rendezvous
This has been my go-to everyday shade for spring as it is super moisturising and stains my lips at the same time 'WINNING'! It is a sweet orange shade that is gorgeous with blues eyes as it will make them pop.

Number #3
CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine - 69 Flirt
This lipstick has been a staple in my handbag for about two years now. It is the perfect everyday shade that adds just a splash of colour to your lips. It is a gorgeous pinky-peach with a subtle golden sparkle that has a texture similar to a lip balm or light gloss. The only thing I dont like about this lipstick is that it does not last long on the lips. Other than that its pretty bloody nice :)

Number #4
YSL Rouge Volupte' Shine 14
I bought this lipstick duty free on the way to Bali a few months ago and wore it pretty much everyday while I was there. It is a bright peach that looks super hot with a tan! Iv been waiting with great angst for the weather to warm up so I can whip this beauty out again. AND it smells like mangoes!!!

Number #5
Mac - Sunny Seoul
This lipstick is just so pretty and preppy and I know it will be another staple this Spring. It is a darling pink shade that iv been wearing constantly over the past couple of weeks. It is very similar to Chanel Flirt, yet it is opaque and doesn't have shimmer.

Makeup Haul

Oh my lord! I have been sooooo naughty over the past couple of weeks, and have spent way to much money on makeup products. But HEY, I need stuff to review for you guys right......? Well thats how I justify it :) I have told myself that this is my last little splurge for the month of September, but who am i kidding!

Stila Oil free Sheer Cover Tinted Moisturizer - Medium 1
I have only used this once this morning, but so far so good. It is the perfect colour match for me, and I was blow away at how this product melts into the skin, and gives such a natural and radiant effect. Stay tuned for a full review of this coming in the next couple of days.
Purchased from Strawberrynet.com

Mac Eyeshadow in Tempting
I have been lusting over this eyeshadow forever. However I was a little disappointed when I got it home and compared it to Mac - Woodwinked. Little bit to similar :(
Purchased in store at MAC Paddington

Mac Pigment - Tan
I am in love with this pigment! It is so flipping gorgeous and gives a stunning, metallic finish to your eyes. Perfect for blues eyes!
Purchased in store at MAC Paddington

The Balm - Mary-Lou Manizer
I felt I needed to get this highlighter as every beauty guru raves about it. It is defiantly the most intense highlight I have used. When used with a light hand it can give a gorgeous glow to your cheeks.
Purchased on feelunique.com

The Balm Hot Mama Blush
I have also been lusting over this blusher for quiet some time. It is a gorgeous peach with golden shimmer through it. Perfect for summer time over a tan :)
Purchased on feelunique.com

Rimmel Stay Glossy - All Day Seduction
Chemist Warehouse is having a huge 50% off all cosmetics and found this beautiful lipgloss hidden within the Rimmel Counter. It is the same colour as my Hot Mama Blush and I cant wait to wear them both together!

This photo is of all products used together

Makeup for Break-outs

Oh gosh, woke up this morning to my face looking like absolute crap! I have been breaking out so much lately and I struggling to find out why, but I' m pretty sure this round is hormonal. A common error that girls make when they are suffering from a breakouts it to apply a think layer of makeup on top to try and cover it up. I can understand if you going out, or out for dinner where your makeup will only be on for a few hours. But for during the day your skin needs to breath and not be clogged up by makeup that will end up making your breakouts even worse.

I have come up with this simple routine that will allow your skin to breath and heal itself. The products used in this tutorial have worked for me in the past, and have helped clear up my breakouts without slapping on layers and layers of makeup on. The star of this post is MineralLustre Foundation. I always go back to this product when my skin is in a little bit of a shimozzle, and I truly believe it helps calm down my breakouts.

You can purchase this foundation at www.mineralmakeupmarket.com/minerallustre.html

HAIR CARE ROUTINE

I dont think there is a girl on the planet who does not like getting her hair done. However, finding a salon that actually listens to what you want can take a life time. And commonly once you find that special salon you stick to them forever! Kinda sounds like a search for love doesn't it! In that case I had the pleasure of spending the morning with my salon lover Fred Shahed Hair and Fashion Boutique on Oxford Street. If you live in Sydney, check these guys out! It has taken me years but I really believe i have found the one :) www.fredshahed.com

ON TO PRODUCTS...
I am not fussy when it comes to hair care. If it smells good, I'm down. However, over the past couple of months I have found a routine that I am loving, and have seen significant differences in my hair's condition.
A little background on my hair. I suffer from the all to common 'Straight and Curly' disease. This is where your hair cannot decide if it wants to be straight or curly, so it just goes dead straight in places and frizzy in others. My family call my frizzies 'Horns', because I have ringlet curls around my faces and around my neck that resemble a horned creature that crawled up from hell. Super Sexy, I know ;) However I have been saved by these heavenly products below that make my hair chill the &*%$ out and calm down. Introducing.....

L'oreal EverSleek Sulfate-Free Smoothing System - Intense Smoothing Shampoo + Conditioner
This range of Shampoo and Conditioner have been raved about in the beauty world, and for good reason. This luxurious duo makes my hair so silky smooth without adding weight. I find that most anti frizz hair products weigh my hair down, while this duo make it as light as a feather. As an extra bonus it is Sulfate-free and Silicone-free! It is the only drugstore duo that tames my 'Horns'.
Purchase from any Priceline

Matrix - Exquisite Oil Biolage
This light weight oil is simply divine. As soon as it touches your hair it absorbs, leaving your hair feeling strong and nourished. I have put aside my Argan Oil and my Moroccan Oil because this products takes the cake. It can be use on damp hair and also dry hair. It controls frizz like a dream and gives a healthy subtle shine. I have not found another oil that is as good as this one.

NOUNOU/PAK - Nourishing Repairing Mask
Where has this mask been all my life!! This mask will bring your hair from brutally damaged to healthy and strong in ONE application! It is seriously a revolution people. It has a strong olive sent that may not be to everyones taste. However if you are after a hair mask that WILL work, this is for you. Heaven in a jar.

Weekly Favourites #1

As it is my first week as a beauty blogger, I thought I better bite the bullet and upload a favourites post! I plan to put up a weekly roundup post every Sunday showing the products that have been the highlight of my week.
_____________________________________

BODY SHOP Silky Cleansing Oil -
I have recently done a review on this cleansing oil, Check it out :) Seriously this cleanser is Fab!

NARS Laguna Bronzer -
I only purchased this bronzer about two weeks ago and have literally used it every day since. It has a lovely olive undertone that gives a natural sun-kissed glow to your skin without making you look orange. I have been using this as a contour for everyday and love the natural look it gives.

JORDANA Blush Coral Sandy Beach -
I am still obsessing over the fact that i only paid $3.00 for this blush. However, it is rather depressing knowing the amount of money iv spent on Nars, Bobbi Brown and Mac blush's that sit in my stash untouched. This blush is a gorgeous peach/pink with a slight golden shimmer. It looks stunning over a tan and is now a stable in my spring/summer makeup for the 3rd year in a row.

MAC Pigment in Tan
This week I have been quite naughty, and donated a large chunk of molla to MAC. I am not usually a MAC kinda gal but could not resist this pigment in the colour Tan. It is the most divine loose eyeshadow that gives a metallic and impossibly flattering wash of golden light to the eye. I know this is going cement itself into my daily routine! Can't wait to purchase more of this little pots of pure goodness.

MAC Lipstick Shy Girl -
This has been my go-to everyday shade. It is my favourite nude shade as it is the perfect balance between pink and beige. This balance ensures that it does not wash me out (which most nudes do).

Body Shop Silky Cleansing Oil review

Best Makeup Remover EVER!

I dont know about you ladies but removing makeup can be a right pain in the A$$. It can often feel harsh on your skin and it never quite gets ride of it all. Makeup wipes are famous for breaking us out and the only other option is harsh chemical liquids that often have alcohol in them.
Sooooo bad for your skin!!!

the BODY SHOP Silky Cleansing Oil

Up until recently I was using Bioderma to remover my makeup. It is a fantastic cleanser, however doesn't really do the trick when it comes to eye makeup. While on my weekly pilgrimage into the city to find new goodies I stumbled across this cleanser at the Body Shop. It is the most luxurious cleanser I have ever used and feels like heaven on the skin. It is an oil cleanser that you gently massage into your skin to break down and lift your makeup. I know what your thinking, she must be crazy putting oil on her skin! I was concerned at first as well, but the lady at the Body Shop ensured me that it will not break me out as oil cleansers are actually fantastic for oily/combination skin because they balance your natural oil production. And to me horror my breakouts have cleared and my skin feels soft and moisturised after cleansing, rather than stripped and dry. I strongly believe this cleanser has helped banish my breakouts! I highly recommend this cleanser as a makeup remover. If you have dry skin try the butter version! It may just be the greatest thing in Z WORLD! Get it Get it Get it!

Available at the Body Shop for $26.95

My GO-TO Contour Products

Contouring is one of my favourite techniques when I comes to makeup. Over the years I have found a handful of products that work for me and I would love to share them with all of you :) I have Three ways to contour. One being a cream contour which (my Fav), a true shadow contour, and a bronzed contour for everyday. I have also added a video tutorial on how I like to apply my contour.

Tom Form Shape and Illuminate - 01 Intensity One

This is hands down my all time favourite contour. Yes it may be because of the gorgeous packaging and the fact that it is Tom Ford, but i do seriously love this product! It gives such a defined contour that blends seamlessly into your complexion. See my video on how to apply it :)
Found at David Jones $$$

NYX blush -  PB011 Taupe
This contour is the perfect universal shade. For those girls with lighter complexion and have trouble finding a shade that isn't too dark, this is perfect. It is a purple-grey that gives the illusion of a natural shadow. Love this!
beautyjoint.com $

Nars bronzer - Laguna
This Bronzer is what I use every day to add shape to my face. It is perfect as it gives you warmth that your would expect from a bronzer however its olive tones helps to create shadow if applied under the cheekbone. Perfect allrounder!

Dermalogica Clean Start review

Bad Skin BE GONE!

Morning all. Today I have for you my very first review! I will being on the Dermalogica Clean Start foaming face wash and the toning spritz. I have been trying out these two products together for the past month or so and am thoroughly impressed with these two products.

Dermalogica CLEAN START wash off

This face wash claims to clear away dead skin cells and extra oils to clean deep and banish breakouts from your face, neck, back etc.
It has:
 - 0.5% salicylic acid that dives deep into pores to clear trapped oils and bacteria.
- Botanical extract to help assist regulate oil production.
- Orange peel oil to energise and refresh.

Because these products claim to be an anti breakout, or acne fighting, I was expecting them to be drying, strong, and harsh. I have used a number of products with salicylic acid in them before, and my skin just shrivelled up like a raisin! However this face wash feels so gentle, so fresh and cleans my skin with stripping it bare. I love you use it with my Clarisonic Mia at night.
I don't know about you, but those face washes that leave you running for the moisturiser after a shower because your skin it tighter than Joan Rivers after a face life, are a defiant no go! This skin will leave your skin feeling fresh and clean, yet still having a balance of your natural healthy oils. It is when your oils are completely stripped that skin problems can greaten. I highly recommend this face wash for all skin types.

Dermalogica CLEAN START All over clear

I have been using the Clinique 2 step toner for as long as I can remember, and was delighted to find an alternative that actually saw differences in my skin. This refreshing mist promises to never leave skin tight and to aim to help banish future breakouts.
- It is infused with sesame seed extract to help control oil and shine.
- Liquorice, Burdock and Argan extracts to help hydrate and protect from environmental exposure.
- Lemongrass to revive the skin.

One of the things that I love about this sprints it that it is so refreshing and feels wonderful in the mornings. It really wakes you up and leaves you skin clean, clear and healthy.

Overall these to products are winners in my opinion and I would recommend them for any skin type.

Find these products in store at David Jones or Online at
